Art Director at Chilewich Sultan LLC Location: New York, NY

Chilewich is seeking a talented Art Director who identifies with and is inspired by the unique aesthetic of our range of products as well as the Chilewich brand. They will direct the visual expression of Chilewich cohesively through all mediums and within each distribution channel.

Chilewich is a renowned design company that creates innovative products which are both beautiful and functional. Headquartered in NYC with a manufacturing facility in Georgia, all fabrics are designed in-house by Chilewich and converted into textiles for the table, a wide range of floorcoverings, wall coverings, bags and other products. Chilewich products are sold worldwide through a variety of channels including our own store and website, wholesale, hospitality, and through architects and designers for both residential and commercial interiors.

The role:

•Reports to and collaborates with both the Marketing and Creative Directors.
•Determines how best to represent a concept visually.
•Continuously seeks inspiration for inventive, artful ways to visually communicate the brand.
•Directs and inspires small in-house graphic team as well as outside talent to create brand-right visual assets for print, digital, display, video and packaging and all sales materials.
•Supplies the art direction for all photo shoots and video work.
•Directs and oversees display installations at trade shows and in our own retail stores.
•Prepares and delivers assets according to calendar deadlines created jointly with Marketing Director.
•Adheres to the budget established in collaboration with Marketing Director.

Qualifications:

•Graduate of recognized Design program.
•Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a director or manager of the Design department in an innovative design or fashion company.
•Knowledge and experience with all or most of the following: print, video, graphics, photography, display and packaging.

Project Coordinator
Events / Tradeshows at Chilewich Sultan LLC
Location: New York, NY

Chilewich is seeking a Project Coordinator to be responsible for the execution of all company events, photo shoots, and tradeshows.

Headquartered in NYC with a manufacturing facility in Georgia, all fabrics are designed in-house by Chilewich and converted into textiles for the table, a wide range of floorcoverings, wall coverings, bags and other products. Chilewich products are sold worldwide through a variety of channels including our own store and website, wholesale, hospitality, and through architects and designers for both residential and commercial interiors.

The role:
- Reports to and works with the Marketing Director to coordinate and execute all marketing events; including photo shoots, trade shows and corporate events
- Manages logistics of all trade shows and events including;
- Schedule of key dates and ensure deadlines met for each event
- Ordering and coordination of all details including shipping, electric
- Hiring and on site supervision of labor
- Responsible for merchandising / supplies
- Maintain inventory of display furniture
- Track spending against budget
- Maintains archives of historical styles and print collateral
- Organizes samples for photography, create shot list and help with propping. Make sure all assets are complete.

Product Development Coordinator

Location: New York, NY

Chilewich is seeking a talented Product Development Coordinator who identifies with and is inspired by the unique aesthetic of our range of products as well as the Chilewich brand.

Chilewich products are sold worldwide through a variety of channels including our own store and website, wholesale, hospitality, and through architects and designers for both residential and commercial interiors.

THE ROLE:

•Reports to VP Merchandise & Planning and liasons closely with Design Director.
•Assists in overseeing pre-production logistics for tabletop, flooring and furniture- across retail, contract, hospitality, and wholesale.
•Assist with the initial sourcing processes and procedures to successfully execute and deliver products on time, which meet the design, quality, and value mission. This will include the following:
• Gather updates from the design team during the development process to identify/source markets and suppliers for requested materials, finishes, and products
• Manage the development calendar and sampling timelines
• Ensure on time shipments of prototypes,samples and general pre-production tracking and reporting
• Vendor research and development- capabilities, capacity, and growth plans
• Serve as contact to the vendors, suppliers, production team and warehouse to communicate daily and monitor the progress of new development
• Prepare comparative studies- products, costs, and risk as required
• Cost tracking, spreadsheet maintenance, and vendor cost negotiations based on parameters from Production team and sales
• Invoice maintenance & reconciliation
• Management of pre-production approval process
• Assist in product development meetings with Sales, Design, and Production and manage the master design development project spreadsheet to review status of new developments
• Create vendor database for monitoring performance, such as cost savings, vendor performance, product lead times, etc.
• Follow up & trouble shoot on the pre-production process to ensure production is tracking on-time and meeting key milestone due dates
• Close working relationship with Sales, design, warehouse, and production teams
• Close working relationship with domestic and overseas suppliers, and freight
providers




REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS:
• 2-3 years of product development or production experience with a retail or manufacturing company, preferably in home/interiors or textiles
• Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency, especially in Excel
• High attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills required
• Ability to successfully multi-task and prioritize
